Fetzer Vineyards, America's sixth largest premium wine producer, has produced high-quality varietal wines since 1968 in beautiful Mendocino County. In 1958, lumber merchant Barney Fetzer bought a dilapidated ranch in Redwood Valley as a home for his wife and a soon-to-be family of eleven children. In the rugged hills of Mendocino, they toiled in their vineyards for a decade and turned their dream into reality with their first vintage in 1968.
Fetzer Shaly Loam Gewurztraminer is crafted in an off-dry style, offering a subtle sweetness balanced by crisp acidity and vibrant varietal character. The nose delivers bright layers of citrus and tangerine, mango, orange zest, and floral notes of lavender and honeysuckle. On the palate, a delicate sweetness offsets richly nuanced notes of cloves and nutmeg, a medley framed by subtly savory notes of caramelized apples, cashew notes, and pastry. A touch of Muscat lends an intriguing floral note.
