    Product Description

Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel is a distinctive wine crafted by Bogle Family Vineyards, a family owned winery situated in Clarksburg, California. The grapes used for this Zinfandel are sourced from some of the finest vineyards across California, including the estate vineyards in Clarksburg, Lodi, and the Sierra Foothills. These vineyards are home to old vine Zinfandel plants, primarily aged between 60 and 80 years, known for producing low yields of highly concentrated fruit clusters. The winemaking process begins with meticulously handpicking these grapes, ensuring only the best fruit is selected. The grapes then undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks. This process preserves the integrity of the fruit's natural flavors and aromas. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in two year old American oak barrels for 10 to 14 months, allowing it to develop complexity and depth, acquiring subtle oak notes that enhance its overall character with 14.5 % alcohol by volume (ABV).

Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel showcases the rich flavors and vibrant aromas typical of this varietal, offering a full bodied experience that includes hints of brambleberries, raspberries, and baking spices, complemented by nuances of black pepper and dark chocolate. This wine's robust profile makes it an excellent companion to various dishes. It pairs wonderfully with grilled meats, including beef and lamb, hearty stews, and rich pasta dishes, making it a versatile choice for various culinary contexts. Whether enjoyed with a casual meal or at a special gathering, Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel delivers a memorable and satisfying wine experience that reflects the quality and dedication of Bogle Family Vineyards.

    Tasting Notes

Aroma: On the nose, vibrant black currant and juniper berry aromas mingle with layers of new leather and black pepper spice.

Palate: The wine showcases a rich medley of ripe blackberry and dried apricots on the palate, enhanced by a juicy acidity that keeps it fresh and lively. There is an earthy complexity with soft, ripe tannins that give way to lingering flavors of berry jam and savory herbs.

Finish: The aging in American oak barrels imparts sweetness and a toasted edge that deepens the wine’s character without overwhelming its natural fruit forward nature.
